Community Practice Pathologist (AP/CP)

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Robert Larner, M.
D.
College of Medicine and the University of Vermont Health Network (UVM HN) seeks a pathologist to provide anatomic and clinical pathology services at regional hospitals in northern New York.
This full-time position in the Department’s Community Practice Pathology Division will be based at Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital (CVPH) in Plattsburgh, NY; this position may also allow for diagnostic anatomic pathology work at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, VT.
The successful applicant will become part of a 3-person team consisting of board-certified pathologists providing state-of-the-art patient care at CVPH.
An additional opportunity to serve as the CLIA Medial Director at CVPH for those interested candidates who have experience in laboratory management, demonstrated excellent communication skills, and promote an environment of teamwork and engagement.
Applicants must be Board-eligible or Board-certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and eligible for medical licensure in New York.
Fellowship training in surgical pathology and/or in a subspecialty with Board certification is desirable and obtaining appropriate New York State Certificate of Qualification(s) will be required.
Previous work experience as a pathologist in community practice is highly desirable.
Plattsburgh is located on the shores of Lake Champlain, near the Adirondack Mountains, the Olympic-Lake Placid region, Montreal, and Burlington, Vermont.
